Darkstorm 1 was a comic published and created by a group of students. While studying at the Pratt Institute School of Art and Design in New York City, Korber was part of a group of art students who published and created the first issue of the comic Darkstorm.

The featured illustration from that publication is from Artist Phil Roberts and shows the members of the group, which included such talents as Boris Vallejo, Ken Williams, Victor Vaccaro, George Pratt, and Michael Korber, as well as 12 other members) of the Darkstorm team.

Boris Vallejo - painter and creator of Barbarella (1968) Movie Poster, as well as nominated for - Award for Best Professional Artist, Locus Award for Best Non-Fiction, Locus Award for Best Art Book - collaborated with the Pratt artist publication.
