Thursday, Obra Galeria Alegria will present the exhibition of the artist Michael J. Korber titled Recent Paintings.

The opening cocktail will be held that day from 7:00 to 10:00 pm. With a painting style "Pyrotechnic Iconographism", Korber will be presenting twenty-five recent paintings / and works prepared in oil, on Belgian linen. Altogether, the artist's works emphasize line and color.

Korber's compositions, be they paintings, drawings, prints or sculptures, have the human figure and the exploration of emotions at its central axis.

For Korber, the most important element in his work is the line, through curved lines, straight lines, intersecting lines that dissect the pictorial plane, and through his light and fluid movements, always well thought out, that the artist creates compositions of great visual dynamism.

Korber uses the human figure, not as a mere study of anatomy, but to deal with much deeper matters about the human being and its spirit.

His work emphasizes the use of un-primed fabric, a method he uses to highlight the intensity of the pigment on the pictorial surface. Korber uses color to project and explore different moods and feelings of the human being.

Korber, who studied art at the Pratt Institute in New York, has participated in countless exhibitions, both individual and collective, in Europe, the United States, South America, and the Caribbean. Recently, the United Nations added to his collection of work by this artist and is currently Deputy Vice President of the International Biennial of Art in Malta
